Dorothy Young

She was born in June 10, 1947 in Salamanca, NY, the daughter of Sydney L. and Julia A. Benton Smith.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Terry H. Young and brother Sydney T. Smith.

She is survived by her brothers Art (Sharon) Smith and Richard (Caren) Smith, sister in law Diane Smith; brother-in-law, mark (Virginia) Schroeder; children Chris Young of Lilburn, GA, Susan Young of Dacula, GA, Kelly (Kevin) Joyner of Augusta, GA and Dave (Michelle) Young of Lilburn, GA; her loving Grandchildren Nick (Alison) Young, Dylan Colon, Jason Colon, Tyler (Kyle) Schubnell, AJ Shealey, Kolby Joyner, Kaleb Joyner, Katie Joyner, Joseph Yanko, Callie Yanko and Austin Yanko; four great grandchildren Tucker, Paisley and Wyatt Young and Miller Schubnell.

Dorothy was an active member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church for almost 50 years, devoting her time and energy to RCIA and her spiritual growth.

Dorothy loved her work family, current (McCullough & Associates) and past (Harwick and Bostik).

Dorothy will be remembered as the best Mom, Grandma/MeMaw, friend and co-worker!! To know her was to love her!

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00am, Monday, October 2, 2023 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 801 Tom Smith Road, Lilburn, GA 30047.

The family will receive friends at the Church in the reception hall following the Mass.

Mass will be livestreamed for those that cannot attend in person.
