Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016, in the Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Chafin was a native of Washington Ga., but has lived in Augusta for many years. He was an accountant for 22 years for M.C.G. and also had worked for Babcock & Wilcox for 13 years.
Mr. Chafin was preceded in death by his daughter Tina Ray. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Chafin, his son, Melvin Ray, Barnwell S.C.; Daughter, Janey Smith, Augusta; sister, Cheryl Chafin, Augusta; 12-grandchildren and 3-great-grandchildren.
