Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in the Elliott Sons Funeral Home Lumpkin Rd. chapel. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends starting at 1 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Mr. Goldman was a graduate of Richmond Academy; he was the first mayor of “Teen Town” in south Augusta. He retired from International Paper with 43 years of service. Mr. Goldman enjoyed spending time at the lake with family and friends, and was an avid University of Georgia football fan who loved to watch the “Dawgs” play between the hedges.
Mr. Goldman was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Goldman Sr. and Lillian R. Goldman, his sister, Emmie Hallman, and brother, John W. Goldman Jr. In addition to his wife survivors include his son, George “Ray” Goldman Jr., daughter, Rechelle G. Filley and her husband Keith R. Filley, grandson’s Jacob W. Goldman, and Gault R. Goldman, sister, Dorothy “Dotsy” Burwell and several nieces and nephews.
