Grace Miness Hatcher

Our "Gracie Baby" was born on February 5, 1929 in Collins, GA to Marshall and Gladys Oliver Miness. We were blessed to have a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She always gave unselfishly of her love and her time. She was not blessed with a lot of this world's goods, but she sure could make a dollar go a long way. She always taught us to put God first in our lives, and she lived by that example. God always made a way for her and took care of her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters; Helen Smiley and Leah Hodges, brothers; Charles and Marshall Jr. Miness, her daughters; Donna Hatcher and Theresa Curtis, 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She is survived by her sisters, Nellwyn Waters and Patricia Prosser; her children, Linda (Leroy) Wombles, Gail (Clifton) O'Bryan, Steve Hatcher, Ramona Soles, Veronda (Wilson) Turner, Letissia (Randy) Wheelis, Wanda Kay (Manuel) Locklear, Lena (Bruce) Morgan and son-in-law Rodney Curtis; 26 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 PM at the Apostolic Lighthouse Church, 1232 Powderhouse Rd. Aiken, SC 29803. Entombment will follow at the Sunset Memory Gardens, 2648 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Graniteville, SC 29829.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Apostolic Lighthouse Church, 1232 Powderhouse Rd, Aiken, SC 29803 in memory of Grace.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Pepperhill Nursing Home and our dear friend Maureen Johnson for their devoted care and love for our mother.
