Helen Martin

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 11am at The Hill Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Cary Boone, Russell Blanchard III, Eric Kershner, Bryan Robinson, Chris Cawley, and Al Sutton.

Born in Warrenton, GA, she was the daughter of the late William and Myrtice Eubanks Stanley. She was a lifelong resident of Augusta. She was a civil service worker; she taught kindergarten at Augusta Christian School for a number of years and was a secretary at Perrin Elementary. She was a legal secretary for Attorney Bill Coleman, Robert Norman (Hull, Towill Firm), and retired after twenty five years as secretary for Mark Burgreen. Helen was a member of the Hill Baptist Church for over 70 years. She loved to watch sports and was an avid GA Bulldog fan. Helen was a very devoted Christian woman who loved her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Stanley “Stan” Alfred Martin, brother, Gerald Stanley. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Francis “Frank” T. Martin, daughter, Fran (Ricky) Adams, Leesburg, GA; grandchildren, Bill (Stacey) Brown, Duane Brown, Joy Brown, great grandchildren, Trevor, Ben, Ivy, and Courtney.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 6-8pm at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 1134 Telfair St. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Hill Baptist Church, 2165 Kings Way, Augusta, GA, 30904.
