James Ray Kitchens Sr.

Mr. Kitchens worked as an electrician, was employed by CGL and worked previously for 38 years at the Richmond County Board of Education. He enjoyed fishing, playing piano and singing gospel music.

Mr. Kitchens is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Kitchens and Frances Kitchens. Survivors include his spouse of 37 years, Cathy Epps Kitchens; son, James Ray Kitchens Jr. (Jill); daughter, Melody Kitchens Perkins (Matt); step-son, S. Michael Reed (Ashley); step-daughter, Alecia Higdon; grandchildren, James Ray Kitchens III, Sara Kitchens, Avery Kitchens, Wheeler Kitchens, and to be born in June, Ryker James Perkins; step-grandchildren, Hollee, Austin, Corbin, Levi, Autumn and Somer; step-great grandson, Dawson; siblings, Ralph E. Kitchens (Mindy), Louise Grace, Gail Eastmead, Bobbie Luther (Larry); and a number of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

The family will receive friends from 6-8, Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home on Lumpkin Road. Funeral services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home.
