

Mr. Magness entered into rest on December 21, 2020 at Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home. He was born in Boley, Oklahoma to Leona and Eldridge Magness (deceased). Mr. Magness attended and sang in the choir at Good Sheppard Chapel on Ft. Gordon. He volunteered at the 15th Regimental Signal Brigade Holiday Block Leave Operation, providing meals for troops going on Christmas leave. Mr. Magness was a faithful donor to various organizations such as the Indian School for the Blind, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and a number of others. Mr. Magness was proceeded in death by his wife Sylvia Magness; son, Thomas (Irene) Magness; daughter, Brigette Rich; brothers, Ernest, Garland, Everett Eldridge, and Donald Magness. He is survived by son Roy (Kim) Magness; very dear friend Christel Nakano; sisters, Yvonne (Leonard) Jacques of Wichita, Kansas, Cecelia (Lantis) Franks, and Rita Winston of Oklahoma City; bothers’, Fred Lefford and Sterlin Magness of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held at Elliott Sons Chapel on Lumpkin Road on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 1 PM. The family will receive friends at the chapel an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at 2 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will be hosting a repast at Golden Corral following the service at 3 PM.
