Augusta, GA- Oliver Garrett, 82, entered into rest on Friday, April 15, 2011 at MCG in Augusta, GA. Oliver was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War. He then worked in Civil Service for the Federal Government until his retirement. He loved to ride his Harley. Mr. Garrett attended George’s Creek Baptist Church. Oliver was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Garrett.
He is survived by his daughter, Regina (Arthur) Holmes of Lawrenceville, GA; fiancé, Barbara S. Wingrove of Augusta; sister-in-law, Barbara Garrett of Charleston, SC; 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home Lumpkin Road Chapel. Interment will be in McMinn Memorial Gardens in Athens, TN.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 18, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
