

Paul was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Augusta, GA and loved the Lord. He was born in Atlanta, GA in 1953 to his late parents, James and Lillie Anderson Lockwood. He was a lifelong resident of Augusta, GA. Paul attended Butler High School where he was a graduate of the class of 1971. Paul retired in 2015 after working in maintenance and later as a welder for Pan Am, Johnson Controls, IAP, Akima and AGS at Fort Gordon, GA. Prior to that he worked for Kimberly Clark and Transco Textile Companies. He loved fishing, gardening and grilling for family, friends and coworkers. He was a loving and supportive husband, father and grandfather. He was loved and respected by his family, church and co-workers. Paul is remembered above all for his unconditional and limitless devotion to the wellbeing of those he loved.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, James and Lillie Anderson Lockwood. Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Petra Elisabeth Casteel Lockwood; daughters, Erika Huseman (Richmond) of Bonita Beach, FL, Brandi English (Kris) of North Augusta, SC; sons, Daniel Lockwood of Leuven, Belgium and Michael Lockwood of Long Island, New York; grandsons, Justin, Brennon and Connor Huseman, Taylor Burt, and Brandon Lee English (preceded) and Connor English; sisters, Elaine Logan (James) of Anchorage, AK, Dorothy “Dot” Cunningham (Bob) of Martinez, GA, Peggy Rollins of Apopka, FL and Trish Philmon (Glen) of New Orleans, Louisiana; brother, Carl Lockwood (Anne) of Charlotte, NC; aunt, Ruth Anderson Moore of Pooler, GA; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for a Vigil with Rosary at 6pm, Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home on Lumpkin Road. The family will fellowship with friends from 6:30-8pm at the funeral home. A memorial Mass will be held at 11am, on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2607 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, GA 30906. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to honor Paul to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund, 2607 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, GA 30906. The family would like to give their appreciation for the kindness and compassion shown by Heartland Hospice Care and Doctor’s Hospital.
