Richard Louis Chanin

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Marie Chanin and his son, Richard Paul Chanin.

Richard leaves behind his wife, Audrey Louise Chanin; his children, Michael Paul Chanin and Amber Norris (Daryl); his grandchildren, Michael Chanin Jr., Ariana Chanin, Devin Norris, Noah Norris and Daryl Norris III and several nieces and nephews.

Richard was well known as a drummer. He played with several groups like Rascals, Dawn, Tony Orlando, James Brown, Neil Diamond and several others. He loved jazz music, playing pool and darts. He was the family chef and loved cooking for others. He was a very social person and loved spending time with others, especially family. He could be stubborn at times, but he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be missed deeply, but his memory will be treasured forever.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 2 pm until 3 pm at Elliott Sons Funeral Home at 2524 Lumpkin Road Augusta, GA 30906.
