Robert Mitchell Melton Jr.

Mr. Melton was a native of Augusta. He was a maintenance contractor for Sconyer’s Barbecue where he thoroughly enjoyed meeting people. Bob was an avid sportsman enjoying hunting,fishing and the outdoors. He loved animals and was a friend to everyone he met. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Mitchell and Elizabeth DeBow Melton.

Survivors include his sister Aprile D. Melton; nephew, Joshua B. Jenkins (Jill); daughter of his heart, Danielle; uncles, Walter J.DeBow (Kathy), Rollis DeBow (Alice) and Arthur Wade Melton (Mary) and many cousins.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 Pm at the funeral home.

Funeral Services will be held 2PM, Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Lloyd Green officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be his dear friends, Larry Sconyers, Freddy Sanders and David Walker.
