AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Sarah Patricia Allen passed peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2012, with her family by her side at Doctor's Hospital. Services will be held 12:15PM, Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at The Church of the Most Holy Trinity, 720 Telfair Street, Augusta, Georgia, with Father Jacek Szuster officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Patricia was born in Augusta, Georgia, on January 18, 1957, to the late Doris L. and Elbert L. McDaniel. She attended public schools and graduated from Lucy C. Laney. She went on to earn her Accounting Degree from Kerr Business College. She was employed at the Richmond County Board of Education for 32 years. She worked as a teacher, then as a secretary in Title 1 where she touched many lives. She was so extraordinary that she received the Outstanding Young Women of America Award in 1987. She initially went to Jenkins Memorial but then became a member at The Church of the Most Holy Trinity. She met Samuel Allen, Jr. at the age of 21. After 12 years of courtship, they married on July 17, 1990. From that union, they had one daughter, Samantha Viola-Marie Allen, born July 29, 1991. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Samuel; daughter, Samantha; sister-in-law, Ruby Banks; three sisters, Elaine, Christine, and Faye; brother, Harold; seven nieces and nine nephews; an adopted mother, Lottie Cummings; and two godchildren; along with many friends that loved her. Mrs. Allen was a strong and Christian woman. She knew the true meaning of happiness and how to give. She will definitely be missed. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012,at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, Georgia.
