North Augusta, SC – Mr. William Reid Haynes, 89, entered into rest on Thursday, August 9, 2018. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Thelma Naomi Haynes; brother, Eugene Haynes; sister, Virginia Phillips; sister, Sue Oliver; sister, Eileen Duke; and his parents, John and Anne Haynes. Survivors include his loving son, Robert Haynes; sister, Elsie Duke; and sister, Alma Rhinehammer. He served 23 years in the U.S. Army in the military police, and was a decorated veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, GA 30906. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, GA 30906. Burial with full military honors will immediately follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA 30906.
