Born in 1928 in Corning, NY, Charlotte received a Bachelor of Arts in French from the University of Rochester in 1951. She continued her education at Syracuse University, from which she received her Master’s in Education in 1953.
Charlotte served as Dean of Women in Oak Park, Illinois. She was a High School Guidance Counselor in Rome, NY and later in the Aurora Public Schools where she retired in June of 1989. She was very active in the P.E.O. Sisterhood in Colorado, acting as president in the early 80’s and again in the late 90’s.
She married John W. Hamilton on June 4, 1959 in Rochester, NY. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1981.
Charlotte enjoyed time with her family, traveling with her sister Virginia as well as with her friend Jane, and eating lunch with the “Sushi Girls.”
She is survived by her sons Mark (Jennifer) from San Diego, CA, Steve (Simone) from Aurora, CO and John (Kelly) from Littleton, CO, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
