After graduating from High School, Charlotte moved to Denver to attend Parks Business College. There she met Billy Edwin Wickham. They were married January 5, 1955. The couple decided to leave Colorado for the Pacific Northwest where they lived in Portland, Seattle, and Spokane. Charlotte was homesick for Colorado so the couple moved with their two children, Debbie and Gary, to Broomfield.
Charlotte was a mother and homemaker. She served as a home room mother for many years while the kids were in grade school. To bring in some extra income, Charlotte did ironing, was a teaching assistant to a second grade teacher, and worked part time at the Broomfield Public Library.
Bill and Charlotte yearned for some farmland and bought 40 acres. After building a new home on the land they moved to Mead, Colorado in 1970. The farm brought challenges as Bill was working full time in Denver, so they sold the farm and moved to Longmont, Colorado in 1972. Charlotte worked at the Lutheran Church in Colorado until both Debbie and Gary left home. She then began working full time in the Trust Department at Central Bank of Colorado in downtown Denver.
As Bill approached retirement, they bought land in Taneyville, Missouri. Bill designed an eco-friendly home and once it was completed, they moved and transitioned into retirement life. Although Charlotte continued taking care of the house and garden produce, she began to explore new hobbies and crafts and spent many years painting some beautiful pictures.
Upon Bill’s death in 1989, Charlotte returned to Colorado and settled in Greeley to be near her brother and father. Charlotte joined a Newcomer’s Lunch group to get to know some people in Greeley. Crafts became a big part of her life. She made a number of miniature doll houses sharing decorating ideas with friends. Charlotte joined a couple of quilting groups and attended many technique classes. Charlotte was an excellent seamstress and often taught technique classes to club members. She made a number of red, white, and blue quilts for Quilts of Valor which were donated to military service people and veterans in need. Many family members and friends have been recipients of Charlotte’s beautiful quilts.
Charlotte eventually added making gift cards to her craft repertoire. One could always count on receiving one of her pretty cards to commemorate a special occasion.
After taking a fall in 2024 and spending time in rehab, Charlotte decided to move to Denver to St. Andrew’s independent living facility. She enjoyed meeting new people and gossiping with friends at St. Andrews. She continued working on quilts and gift cards.
Family joined Charlotte in April 2025, to celebrate her 95th Birthday.
Charlotte Elizabeth Cramer Wickham went to Heaven, March 31, 2026.
