Surrounded by his family in Claremore, Oklahoma, David went to be with his Savior on Friday, June 27, 2025. He is at home now; at peace and in perfection. He was a true Jesus follower; a servant and wonderful example to his family and all who knew him. Being gentle in spirit and soft spoken, his demeanor reflected the love that God has for his creation.
David grew up in Pennsylvania and attended UPenn. As a meteorologist, his enlistment in the United States Air Force took him all over the world. By the end of his military career, he held the rank of SMSgt and held NCO command over the Buckley Air National Guard weather station.
On a blind date, he met Mary Emily, a Department of Defense teacher, on a tour in Okinawa, Japan. Knowing he couldn't live the rest of his life without her, they married in Houston, Texas in 1968. His service and dedication to his military service grew, as did their family.
David followed up a 22 year military stint with an additional outstanding career with the United States Postal Service, from 1987-2007. After retiring the second time, he spent many years joyfully serving on the Seville Board of Directors at Heather Gardens. This past March, David and Mary relocated from the Mile High to Claremore, Oklahoma to be closer to family.
David was preceded in death by both of his parents and a sister. He is survived by his wife, Mary Emily; along with their four children, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Dad,
You will be terribly missed here; but we are all so grateful to God for the gift that was you and every moment shared.
A funeral service for David will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Advantage Aurora Chase Chapel, 1095 Havana Street, Aurora, CO 80010.
