Dean Aden of Aurora, Colorado passed away on June 28, 2025 at 102 years of age. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiyo and Lois Aden, his wife, Golda, of 69 years, his brother, Everett and sister-in-law, Carrie (Tag). He is survived by his children; Ron Aden and wife, Nancy of Hotchkiss, Colorado, Russ Aden and wife, Camille of Fairbury, Nebraska, Roland Aden of Aurora, Colorado, Nita O’Neal and husband, Gary of Dallas, Texas, 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Dean served in the army during WWII in Northern France and Germany receiving the American Campaign Medal and European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal along with others. At the end of the war, he received an honorable discharge.
After the war, he received his A&E license in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He spent his entire career in the airline industry. He worked for Frontier most of that time then finished his career contracting for various airlines, aiding them to meet FAA regulations. He was known as a man of integrity on the job.
In his spare time, Dean loved to be outdoors enjoying nature while fishing, hunting, and camping. Almost all vacations were spent taking his family along on these outdoor adventures. His fishing and hunting expeditions provided many enjoyable meals, often eaten around the campfire.
Dean could build or fix almost anything with his hands. He fixed all the cars and electronics around the house. He rebuilt a Stetson airplane. He helped build the first house the family owned in Aurora and added a garage by himself later. If he built something for inside the house, the family joke was that the entire house could collapse and the item he made would still be standing.
The most important features about Dean were his faithfulness to his family and his love of God. Dean accepted the Lord as a young man after his military career and was extremely committed to church attendance and volunteering. Through the years he volunteered in Sunday School, Awana’s, Boy Scouts, bus ministry, visitation and, evangelism. He served as a deacon at several churches and worked along with the Denver Billy Graham Crusade sharing the gospel with others.
After he lost his eyesight, he would listen to the Bible on tape, many hours a day. He prayed for his family consistently. He truly finished well leaving a legacy of faith.
A funeral service for Dean will be held Monday, July 7, 2025 at 11:00 AM with a gathering time at 10AM at Advantage Aurora Chase Chapel, 1095 Havana Street, Aurora, CO 80010. A reception will follow from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, also Aurora Chase. A committal service will occur Monday, July 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Olinger Eastlawn Cemetery, 19600 E Smith Rd, Aurora, CO 80011.
