Donald James Burks was born August 3, 1945, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He departed this life on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, with much regret from his family. He proceeded death by both parents Albert Valentine Burks and Ida Mae Taylor (Burks, Goode), along with Mae Burks (McMullin).
Donald leaves behind his only sister, Glenda Rae Burks; niece, Felicia Renee Burks-Evans, anf her husband, Silas Evans Jr.; nephew, Albert Don-Darnell Burks; one godson, Ray Don Younger; and five great-nephews and nieces, Allen Jamal Ross, Jaynee Shontae Burks, Raeozahle Tranae Evans, Deshawn Darnell Burks, and Silas Darnell Burks, III.
Donald graduated from Manual High School and soon after graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Armed Forces, where he served our country for four years in the Navy. After his tour of duty, Donald married and continued to live his life respectfully. Donald enjoyed bowling and earned many trophies playing. He also took pride in fixing sports cars.
For the ones who will no longer see you, as a brother, godfather and uncle you will be greatly missed, thank you for the time we had together.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 5-7PM at Advantage Aurora Chase Chapel.
