Emma A. Dimas passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s in Aurora, Colorado on August 7, 2025. Emma was born on October 12, 1928, in Denver, Colorado. She was one of five children born to Fred and Sarah Castellano. After graduation from Manuel High School in Denver she met and married George G. Dimas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Sarah Castellano, her husband George and Grandson DJ, brother, Fred and sister, Teresa.
George and Emma were the parents of five children, Georgia Fox (Jay), Tony (Karen), Kathy Faddis (Keith), Ross and Paul. She was the proud grandmother to 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren who lovingly called her “Tita”. She is also survived by her sister Polly Zamora and brother Gilbert Castellano.
Emma worked for 30 years at Samsonite (Shwayder Brothers) before retiring and volunteering for many years at Catholic Charities. In 2017 she was recognized as Volunteer of the Year for Little Flower Assistance Center of Catholic Charities of Denver.
Emma was a lifelong member of St. Therese Church and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. A special thanks to her granddaughter Camille Ryckman and Ryckman family and daughter in law Kerry Belford for assisting her at Mass every Saturday.
