Lillie Belle Brooks

August 5, 1927May 21, 2020

This beautiful life began in a small town known as Alexander City Alabama to the parents Homer Thomas and Mammie Harrol. Lillie married her love Ocie Raymond Brooks on July 23,1949 in Alexander City, Alabama. They moved to Denver, Colorado in 1952.

They had four children from this union. Ocie Edward, Rosamarie, Jerry Lee, and Lillian Ann.

She is survived by Rosamarie McClain, Jerry Lee Brooks (Laurie), Lillian Maxwell, Shirly Brooks a special daughter in law whom felt as her daughter.

We would love to sit with her as she would tell us stories about being a basketball player to majorette to always lift your feet high and be strong. She always made everyone she met feel comfort and taught us all how to truly love because family was so important to her. We will always cherish her memory in our heart.

Lillie has been blessed with the gift of 12 grandchildren. Ocie Edward 2nd (Kattie) Ta-tanis Brooks, Michael Brooks, Vonya Taylor (Terrenee) ,Tommy McClain (Stephanie), Lawrence Maxwell (Bonnie), Lyndel Maxwell, Jermaine Brooks, Latrice Askew (Cedric), Brandon Brooks, Tiffany Brooks and Jeremy Brooks.

17 great grandchildren - Briahna Brooks, Timothy Ealy (Jossy), Tianna Brooks, Brandon Brooks, Jalen Jefferson, DesZaria Maxwell, Trent Brooks, Paris Glenn, Deana McClain, Aaron Sanders, Jordin McClain, Lawrence Maxwell 3rd, Camille Brooks, Chirstian Askew, Jazlyn Maxwell, Lynnox Maxwell, Tristin Brooks.

1 great great grand baby TJ.

So we lift over our voice with joy and love until we meet again.

You were the other Mother I received when I married your son, you both were gifts that I though was mine to keep. Now you have reunited with him and you both have left me with very fond memories. We all will miss you dearly but we knew we had to let you go and spread your newly acquired wings. 55 years of friendship has come and gone but will resume when we meet again. You will be forever in my heart.
