As far as the Lilly’s and Floyd’s go, Nancy came into my life in our Hudson River Valley of New York by way of my husband Len, and thereby around 1991 we got to know Joan once she relocated to live with Nancy in Connecticut: Joan holds a special place in our memories of Birthdays, Thanksgivings, and Christmases spent at our house and theirs over a ten year period until 2001 when Nancy transferred to Durango. 

And, fortunately by keeping our long-distance friendship with Nancy in tact, Len and I were invited to Nancy’s in Aurora over Thanksgiving 2019; where, Joan, though on oxygen and “slowing down” prepared a meal that would put great chefs/cooks to shame. Besides getting to be with our dear friend Nancy, both Len and I enjoyed the attention with which Joan favored us.

Joan, it was a pleasure to know you these  thirty years, a real Lady, who deserves to Rest In Peace and join her beloved Tom eternally in God’s care.

I love you.  You were so helpful and kind when my Brad passed away. You knew the pain that I was feeling. A pain that never goes away. We also had so many fun lunches, dinners, talks, and shopping trips. We had so much fun at Hallmark conventions, shops, and after-Christmas shopping trips.  
You helped me understand my mom’s dementia. When I cried you were there.  I miss you so much. I know your family is devastated. Thank you to your wonderful Nancy and Kathy for sharing you with me. Thank you for all the love. Love, Sue

As a child, I always ducked away from Aunt Joan. She seemed so proper and a bit scary, honestly. But she always knew about the goings-on in our family, hugged us and asked us questions about school and family. Momma looked forward to her cards, phone calls, and the Christmas ornaments she received every year. And the advice was always welcome. We love her and will miss Aunt Joan dearly.

I was unable to attend today but was able to live stream.  It was almost like being there hearing all the familiar voices of aunts, sisters, brothers, cousins.  Aunt Joan was a blessing to our huge wonderful loving family.  She will be missed so much by all of us.  Bless you and your love for our family Aunt Joan.  



I met Joan through Nancy many years ago when Nancy was working in Savannah, Ga. and have become life long friends.

Over the years I have visited Nancy in her several residence locations and Joan was living with her.  On one occasion when I was visiting Nancy and Joan in Durango, Co. I had volunteered to scan the family slides to the computer to help preserve them.  These slides were made by Nancy's Dad over the growing up years which was done in numerous locations in the US and Germany.   I so enjoyed the project because Joan was there to tell me the stories surrounding the photos.  It was great fun to learn so much about my friends during their early days and see those few photos every family probably has which the kids hope no one ever sees.

I'm so sorry Joan has passed and I will miss visiting with her during future visits with Nancy.  My condolences to the family and the large extended family.

We will dearly miss Aunt Joan.  She was a bright light in our family and we felt her love and support always. Forever in our hearts. 

I recently learned through my genealogy research that Joan and her siblings are my 4th cousins on my father's side of the family as part of my "Lilley" line.  Although I never met Joan, I am sorry to hear of her passing and offer my condolences to all of her family members and friends.  May she rest in peace.

My mother Dorothy is Joan's cousin she had lots of fun stories about her and Joan growing up.  I loved her stories. Joan was such a sweet person she will be missed.

Aunt Joan was such a sweet soul! She loved her family so much. I am so glad that we got to see her at Nana’s  service.  When my husband and I introduced our baby girl to Aunt Joan,  Piper reached for her and gave her a big kiss.  Aunt Joan will be missed and remembered fondly. We loved her dearly. 

I feel very blessed to have seen Aunt Joan and shared a hug or two with her. You are all in our thoughts and prayers .
