

After a long battle Mary passed away at home after years of dementia. Born in Mt Ayr, Iowa to Frank Donald Marsh and Gladys (Herbert) Marsh. Mary graduated in 1949 from Douglas County High School (Douglas, Wyo.) in 1949. Mary found love and She married Robert E. Shaffer December 23, 1953 in Douglas, Wyoming.
Mary was a homemaker until moving to Denver in 1969. She tried a few professions before decided that being a seamstress was what she enjoyed. She worked in that field until she was 72. Her husband was in the Army and she had the privilege of living in many places in the US as well as France and Germany. She enjoyed spending time with family, sewing, crocheting and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her son Robert H, her daughter Mary Joyce, her husband Robert, her brother Walter and her sister Doris as well as her parents. Siblings: Doris (Marsh) Knaus, Garland (Marsh) McNare, Howard Marsh, Walter Marsh and George Marsh.
She is survived by her children, Beverly (Campbell) Sage,(Joe Sage), Teresa (Shaffer) Holeman, Rose (Shaffer) Baker, (Reed Baker), Sandra (Shaffer) Stinson (Tony Stinson), David Shaffer (Candace Shaffer), Debra (Shaffer) Hargett (Steve Hargett). Many Grandchildren, Great –Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday, February 27, 2015 at 4:00 pm and services will be conducted by Chaplain Joe Burns.
Her cremains will be placed with her husband and son at the Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
