Norman Albert Germanson Jr.

Norman is survived by his loving wife and best friend Teresa (Thomas) Germanson.

He is also survived by 5 children and 10 grandchildren: son Norman Germanson III and his wife Courtney and children Zayden and Quentin of Indian Hills, daughter Tanya Germanson and children Veronike and Dante of Commerce City, daughter Amanda Smith and husband Michael and children Tristan and Austin of Thornton, daughter Rachel Gordon and husband Joe and children Brandon, Serenity, and Liara of Colorado Springs, and son Christopher and wife Summer and child Ben of Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Norman was born in Granby, Colorado on September 10, 1951. A graduate of Glendo High School in Glendo, Wyoming, he served with honor and distinction in the United States Marine Corps from 1971 to 1975. While serving as a United States Marine, Norman was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, California, as an AC 130 Aircraft Maintenance Crewman. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Marines never left him, as family and friends will attest. Upon his Honorable Discharge from military service, he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic and truck driver.

Aside from his wife, children, and grand-children, Norman's other passion was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. As an active member of the district 5 Chapter of Colorado ABATE, Norman and Teresa would regularly participate in bike runs to raise money for charity and motorcycle rider awareness both locally and abroad. He always felt a sense of solitude being able to hop on his motorcycle and go where the road took him. Norman also loved fishing, camping, and being outdoors.

Norman will be laid to rest Wednesday October 8th, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Ft. Logan National Cemetery with full military honors.
