Rayvern ML Crooks, Jr. lived life one mile and a pack of Newports at a time. Whether on the open road with his motorcycle or sitting by the water with a fishing pole in hand, he embraced life with freedom, laughter, and love.
He had a deep appreciation for the simple things—country music, the color sapphire blue, and the company of pretty females who could make him smile. But above all else, his heart belonged to his family. He was the best son, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather anyone could ask for.
Pops, as he was affectionately known, believed life was too short—you never have enough time for your family, but you have to choose to sacrifice and be there for them. And that’s exactly what he did. His love for his family showed in every joke, every story, and every moment he shared.
Known for his quirky jokes that never quite made sense, he could always lighten the mood. No matter the situation, he’d find a way to make others laugh, to turn sadness into smiles. He lived by his own motto: “Life is way too short—laugh lots and love hard.”
One of his favorite memories was his unforgettable trip to Sturgis for the 75th Anniversary, where he felt truly free on the open road surrounded by friends and fellow riders.
Pops lived life to the fullest, spreading joy wherever he went. Everyone who met him walked away with a great memory and probably a good laugh, too.
He will be forever remembered for his humor, his heart, and his endless love for his family.
