"Simple, yet Great"
He never wanted the lime light, much preferred some sunlight,
Large in Heart, but not in height, no sinking ships, lips air tight,
Cars, Do It Yourself, and food always made his eyes bright,
His idea of on time was 15 minutes early, at least, right?
And he always loved me, in his own way, no matter what, and in spite,
Of all my flaws, the man hated the water, but not because of Jaws,
He was full of gifts and a bowl full of jelly, like Santa Claus,
His beard wasn't all white, and jolly might not be the word,
I'm not sure I would be either through the things he endured,
And a 12 pack of beer, plus 2 packs of smokes a day, for years,
I need to step up my game, or I'll pass my expiration date here,
And I really can't wait to visit him way up in the clouds,
I'm sure he's got a nice engine in his '23 Roadster, clear and loud,
We can finally have a drink together, maybe even smoke a little too,
Short and sweet, more than you know, Dad, we are really going to miss you...
