

Ruth A. (MacDonald) Hudson passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, at the age of 95. A longtime resident of Jamaica Plain, Randolph, and Avon, Massachusetts, Ruth was known for her devotion to family, strong work ethic, and generous spirit.
Ruth worked for many years at Garland Knitting Mills in Jamaica Plain before later joining TJ Maxx in Stoughton, where she was a valued and respected employee.
She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald Hudson Sr., and the cherished daughter of the late Hector and Anna MacDonald. Ruth was predeceased by her siblings William (Bucko), Jeannette (Jay), Mildred (Millie), Helen, Dorothy (Dottie), Rita, Arthur (Sonny), Ann, and Irene (Chickie). She was also preceded in death by her grandchildren Jade Selby and Jacob Selby.
Ruth leaves behind her loving children, Carol Hudson-Martin of Auburndale, FL, and Ronald Hudson Jr. of Denver, CO. She was a proud grandmother to Matthew Hudson and his wife Hannah of Colorado; Elizabeth Gnagy and her husband Guy of Florida; and Joseph Hudson-Martin and his wife Hana Kikhia of Florida. Her joy multiplied with her great-grandchildren: Henry and Margaret (Maisie) Hudson, Guy II, Eli, Cayden, and Cooper Gnagy, Jaxten Selby, and Charlie Hudson-Martin. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and God-children who will remember her with love.
Ruth will be remembered for her kindness, her love of family, and her ability to make everyone feel special. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a future date.
