Ryan David Eccles

Our beloved Ryan David Eccles passed at home in Aurora, CO on July 1, 2026, at the age of 51 following an illness. Ryan and his red-headed curls entered this world on April 14, 1975 in Provo, Utah. Born to Robert and Stephanie Eccles, Ryan grew up in Vacaville, CA with his three siblings. He and his brothers loved playing wiffleball in the front yard, exploring the hills and creek behind the house, and riding his BMX bike. Ryan always enjoyed sports. He played basketball in high school and often bantered with his dad about who could beat the other on the court. He excelled academically and seemed to do so with little effort. He graduated from Will C. Wood High School in Vacaville, CA with the class of ’93.

Throughout his life, Ryan was driven and ambitious. From his first job as a newspaper delivery boy at age 12, Ryan knew what his goals were and worked hard to achieve them. He had an insatiable thirst for knowledge and had a quick, inquisitive mind. He spent several years working at Scandia Family Fun Center in Fairfield, CA before entering the IT field. He attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA and was incredibly proud to see his son, Justin “JD”, graduate from the same university.

Ryan was competitive. He would challenge you to a game of “name that song” or “name that artist”, and his son, Josh, was the only one who could outdo him. He was stubborn and independent to a fault at times, but also one of the most loving and giving people you’d meet. He had a witty mind, a bright, mischievous grin, and gave you the honest truth. He shared a love of clouds and sunsets with his mom and delighted in sharing photos of Denver's breathtaking skies with her every chance he got. He cherished freedom and this country. He valued history, a passion he shared with his sister, and was an avid reader. He appreciated fine food and was never a big fan of leftovers.

Ryan spent the past 13 years with NetScout Systems, most recently as a Strategic Account Manager. He loved his colleagues and often said he had found a true professional home there.

More than any accomplishment, Ryan measured his life by the people he loved. He cherished his friendships. From Vacaville to Fairfield, from Denver to the East Coast, Ryan was blessed with friends who became family, and he loved them deeply. Above all, though, he found his greatest joy and deepest love in his children and family. Ryan loved watching and coaching his children’s soccer and baseball teams. He was a die-hard SF Giants and 49ers fan and shared that passion with his family. He was anxiously awaiting the opportunity to walk his daughter, Leah, down the aisle at her upcoming wedding and felt truly honored to do so. He was immensely proud of the caring, thoughtful, accomplished young adults his children have become.

Ryan held four other special hearts close to him; his puppies - Shooter, Bella, Teddie, and Tuck. They brought him endless joy and he adored them. If Shooter wanted to chase the lizards hiding under the basketball hoop, Ryan simply picked up the entire hoop to make it happen. Nothing was ever too much for his puppies.

Ryan leaves behind his parents, Robert and Stephanie; his sister, Lindsay; his brothers, Spencer (Jessica) and Tyler (Amanda); his widow, Christine; his sons, Justin (Dani) and Josh; his daughter, Leah (Nick); as well as many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Ryan will be dearly missed and forever loved!
