Willard spent his career in the military, first in the Air Force from 1964-1972 and then in the Army from 1975 until he retired in 1987. He continued to work in the civil service for another ten years.
He is survived by his wife Mary (known as Kay to family) who were married for over 60 years. Also survived by daughters Lisa and Theresa (Junichi) and grandsons Nicholas (Claire), AJ, Hayden, Connor and great-grandson Miles. He was preceded in death by his brothers, sisters and their spouses.
An active member of the hunting and reloading community, Willard also enjoyed preserving the thousands of photographs and slides that he had taken during his travels in the military and on family trips.
He will be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery on September 12, 2025 at 11:30 am.
