Retired Master Sergeant, U.S. Air Force William Michael Baker Sr.

William Baker Sr. "Bill", 93, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026 in Aurora CO. He was born on September 20, 1932, in Bagley, Minnesota to Ed and Anne Baker. Bill lived a life defined by service, hard work, devotion to family, and quiet pride in everything he did.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant after a distinguished military career. Following his service, he continued serving his country as a Computer Programmer with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), where he retired from Civil Service.

Bill found joy in working with his hands. Whether he was woodworking, tending to projects around the house, or meticulously caring for his lawn, he took great pride in a job well done. His yard was known as one of the best on the block—a reflection of his dedication, patience, and attention to detail.

More than anything, Bill cherished his family. He believed in taking care of the people he loved and was always there with a helping hand, steady guidance, and unwavering support. His family could count on him, just as they could count on hearing one of his favorite expressions whenever something brought him joy: "How sweet it is." Those words will forever bring smiles and warm memories to all who knew him.

Bill was proceeded in death by his wife, Gloria and daughter, Brenda O'Leary and is survived by his son, William Baker Jr.; his daughter, Deborah Muth; grandchildren Jessica O'Leary, Devin Muth, Brittany Segura, and Kaite O'Leary; and great grandchildren, Emylie Muth and Devon Gay.

His legacy lives on through the family and friends whose lives he touched with his generosity, strength, and love. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever honored for the example he set through a lifetime of service, integrity, and dedication to those he loved.

Bill has now been laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Gloria A. Baker, reunited in peace after a lifetime of love and devotion. May we remember Bill not only for the years he lived, but for the countless lives he enriched. Every well-crafted project, every neatly trimmed lawn, every act of kindness, and every heartfelt "How sweet it is" will continue to remind us of a man who truly made the world around him better.
