Bonnie Hooker Gates

GATES A, Bonnie Anne (nee Hooker) It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Auntie, sister, and Grandma. Bonnie passed away in her 71st year on January 5th, 2012. Bonnie was the beloved mother of Karen, Phillip and Heather Hack (Wayne). Grandma was adored by her grandsons William and James Hack. Predeceased by her sister Gladys Parfitt and her brother Ross Hooker (Joyce). Bonnie will be greatly missed by her sister and friend Rosie Hooey (Keith) and her brother in law Ray Parfitt. Bonnie was much loved by her many nieces and nephews Pat MacPherson, Perry Hooker, Brady Hooker (Janet), Maria McCulloch (Colin), Tracy Hooey (Bill Campbell), Becky Gore (Brian), and predeceased by Randy Parfitt and Jamee Chatten. She cared deeply for her many nieces and nephews and in turn they loved their Auntie Bonnie (AB). Bonnie was a proud and devoted registered nurse, graduating from Oshawa General and then working at Toronto East General, North York General and Cana Place where she was loved by many residents and their families. Bonnie was a gourmet cook for family and friends and was an avid gardener. Thanks to the staff at Elginwood LTC for their compassionate care. The family will receive family and friends at the Thompson funeral home on Monday January 9 from 5-8pm. A funeral service will take place at Trinity Anglican Church, 72 Victoria Street, Aurora on Tuesday January 10 at 11am. Spring Interment at Groveside Cemetery, Oshawa.
