

Dale Tetsuo Yamaoka passed away at Southlake Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 in his 73rd year. Dale is survived by his loving wife Betty (Avery), children Midori and Jason, sister Naomi (Douglas), aunts Setsu, Sachi and Yvonne, in-laws Dorothy (John), Ellen (Paul) and Charles Avery (Yolande); as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Loving husband, father and friend, Dale was generous and true to himself. Dale will be fondly remembered for his kind, calm and patient nature, his sense of humour and his love for the outdoors.
Dale's work experience in the electrical and mechanical consulting field allowed him to participate in the design , drafting, supervision and acceptance of commercial, office, institutional and industrial projects. His responsibilities included liasing with owners, regulatory agencies and other design disciplines. Over the years he was employed by: Oxford Properties Group, Data Centres Mgmt Services Inc., Smith & Anderson-Electrical Engineers, Royal Bank of Canada (Toronto & Montreal), Keith Associates Ltd (Toronto & Montreal), and I.A. Semenic-Consulting Engineers (Montreal).
He will be missed at the family cottage on Lake Champlain in Vermont and on the ski slopes of Jay Peak.
The family expresses its deep appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Southlake Regional Health Centre.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Dale's life will be held at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Pkwy. S., Aurora, 905-727-5421, on Saturday, May 28th at 2:00 p.m.; reception to follow.
