David “Dave” Gwylym Roberts died Wednesday, February 5th, after complications related to Vascular Dementia, in his 78th year.

Born in Kirkland Lake on May 25th, 1942, Dave was predeceased by his parents William “Bill” and Gladys Roberts. Dave is survived by his daughter Megann (James) Roberts, sister Judy (Jack) Stewart, and many family members throughout Canada. The proud owner-operator of DG Roberts Ltd, Dave was a lifelong wearer of his blue collar; he was happiest when working with his hands. There was virtually no mechanical, electrical, or building problem he could not solve. Dave loved his coffee, his cigarettes, and his daughter (not necessarily in that order!).

You are invited to join family on Monday, February 10th between 2 pm and 5 pm to celebrate Dave’s life at Thompson Funeral Home in Aurora. Special thank you to all the staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre who cared for Dave in his last days.

Contributions in David's memory may be made to Alzheimer Society, https://alzheimer.ca/en/york; and Heart & Stroke Foundation, https://www.heartandstroke.ca.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ThompsonFH-Aurora.com for the Roberts family.

WILLIAM GUINANE

February 10, 2020

Dave Roberts was a true friend of mine as well as my Go to Guy when it came to servicing and maintaining Our Commercial Building. We spent hours together sharing opinions and philoshies on Investments, Family, Politicians, and life in general. We got along famously although he was allot more agressive when it came to Purchasing stock. He would laugh at my Conservative ways. He was a bit of a shooter.
A fond memory I have, is when Dave showed up with fire wood on Christmas Eve at our home during a 4 day power outage during the great ice storm a few years ago. He wanted to save the day. His kindness towards us will always be remembered. He was the salt of the earth. The real deal. He will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace Dave. Your Friend Bill.
