

Eunice Hill, nee Daniel, born 20 April 1922 in Longrock, Cornwall, UK, died at her home in Aurora on January 5, 2016. After a lengthy illness, Eunice passed away at home peacefully with her husband at her side. Eunice was born the only daughter of Gilbert and Eunice Daniel.
Eunice started her nursing career at Greenbank Hospital in Plymouth where she became a State Registered Nurse in 1946. Her life made a definitive change after the war when she decided to join her Aunt Veronica and Uncle Freddie Burch in Malta, working at the local British Army hospital.
At a Christmas party in 1951 she met a young Lieutenant in the Royal Engineers fresh from O.C.T.U. After some remarks on Eunice’s performance at a party game, she decided to teach him a lesson and married him. She and her husband Arthur Henry Hill were married in Maidstone Kent and have enjoyed sixty-two years of marriage.
During her lifetime Eunice has loved, been loved and lived in many places in the world including London, UK, Malta, Rangoon, Burma. Eunice came to Canada in 1956 living in BC, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec before retiring with her husband to Aurora in 1993.
Eunice had a great interest in family history and belonged to the Toronto Cornish Association and the York Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society for many years. In addition to her husband Arthur, Eunice is survived by her children Arthur Rodney, Dianne (Jamie) and grandchildren Hayley and J.J. (James). Eunice has met many people during her travels and will be sadly missed by her many friends and family in England and Canada.

Friends may call at the Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway S., Aurora (905-727-5421) on Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 2-5 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 11 a.m. Cremation.
