The world has lost a kind and beautiful woman. Love of family, friends and good times were most important to Evelyn. Robbed of good health in the last 2 years, Evelyn passed surrounded by her loving family on May 4, 2014 at the age of 82. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ron and her 6 children, Sandra Dutschek (Michael), Gary (Reinie), Susan Valente (Tony), Gordon (Carolyn), Glenn (Aileen), Greg (Danine), 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Born in River Bourgeois, Nova Scotia, the youngest of 14 children, she will be greatly missed by her sister Bernice Richards from Halifax. Evelyn loved life. Her generous heart and innate gift of story telling and making others feel special, made her life rich and full. Her unconditional love for her family and friends will live on in her children, and echo down through the generations. The family is forever grateful for the compassionate, trusted care of her beloved Dr. Baguio, her kind and much loved nurse Candy Hulbert, the faithful caregivers, and the angels on the Palliative Care Team at Southlake Regional Health Centre. Visitation will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, 905-727-5421 on Wednesday May 7, 2014 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A funeral Mass will be held Thursday May 8, 2014 at 10am at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 17955 Leslie St., Newmarket. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation, (Palliative Care Unit).
