Surrounded by his loved ones George passed peacefully on July 24, 2023 at Markham Stouffville Hospital at the age of 81. Beloved husband of the late Carol (2012). Dearest father of Mark (Samantha Allison) and Geoffrey (Jennifer) and loving Grandpa to Weston, Ryder, Sawyer and Emerson and Bodhi. George will be lovingly missed by his partner Cyndy Montgomery and her family, daughters; Corrie (Barkley) and Amanda (Norberto) and their children Theoren and Quinn Hunt and Luca Cáceres.
George Easey joined York D.S.B well before 1969 and taught in the Sutton area before becoming a principal in the system. He was principal at Park Ave P.S., Regency Acres P.S. and James Robinson P.S. George was a great listener and showed empathy whenever the occasion arose. Prior to his retirement, he began taking clergy courses at Emanuel College and had dreams of becoming a minister. He often presided over summer services in Bala On, which was near his cottage. As well in various United Churches in York Region. George loved golf and curling and was also watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. He enjoyed to going the Guelph Storm games with his friends as well. He loved all the time at his cottage, weather it was by himself, working away on some project, or with friends and family.
After the passing of his wife Carol in 2014, he found romance again and a very happy life with his partner, Cyndy, another retired teacher. George will be sorely missed as he touched the lives so many students, educators and community members.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Markham Stouffville Hospital for their care and treatment for our dearest Father.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 1 p.m. until time of the Funeral Service a 2 p.m. at Aurora United Church (presently in Trinity Anglican Church, 70 Victoria Street, Aurora L4G 1R3)
