George Maidment

George was born to John George Maidment and Annie Brewis Maidment in Sunderland, United Kingdom on January 21, 1946. Survived by his wife of 30 years, Joan Reardon, daughters Jacqueline Mitchell and Chelsea Maidment (Chris). Stepfather to Ron Reardon and Krista Reardon-Aldridge (Grant). Proud grandfather to Tyson, Christopher Jr, Alba, Braydon, Hazel and Blake as well as a sister, brother-in-law and niece in the United Kingdom. Predeceased by two older brothers.

After immigrating to Canada in his early 20’s, George had a lengthy career at Rothman’s in Research and Development before starting his own contracting company. He was also an accomplished soccer and tennis player as well as a dedicated fan.

His absence is immediately felt, and he will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank the extraordinary staff of Stronach Cancer Centre and Home Care (especially Neda).

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 27th, 2023 at the Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, Ontario L4G 6W8 905-727-5421 from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM
