The last time I saw Guido, he had this greatest grin and said a few words before he left for the day. The grin was reflecting a satisfaction of accomplishing what he wanted to before he left. Even as the work took its toll on him physically, Guido knew that he won that day.
So many people at the funeral, so many people who's lives were influenced, and I am sure that there were many others that wish they could be there in support and say one last thank you.
To Emily, Matthew, Melissa and Jenna,
Please accept my deepest condolences.

What a beautiful, visual tribute to Guido. The pictures showed many wonderful and happy family memories. We remember Guido as a gentle, loving, family man and together you brought out the best in each other, raising three beautiful children. Emily, my condolences to you and the kids. Just remember that death is only but one stop on our way to eternity. While our family mourns a great loss on Earth, beyond the veil they are rejoicing; for a patriarch has finally come home.
What an honour God bestowed on our family to have been blessed with such a wonderful father, husband, brother, uncle and friend. And now that he has been called home you must try to find comfort in knowing that he will watch over us all and protect us.
Grieve, cry and spend time with family. The sadness will never leave but either will his memory so dont let the sorrow you feel today take over your life. He wouldn't have wanted that I'm sure.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this very difficult time.
Teresa Carinci

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To a cherished friend who will be missed but never forgotten.
God saw that he was getting tired,
A cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around him and whispered, "Come with Me."
With tearful eyes, we watched him suffer,
And saw him fade away.
Although we loved him dearly,
We could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes "the best".

At a time like this, the right words are always hard to find, so we thought we'd share this poem with you:
HIS JOURNEY'S JUST BEGUN
Don't think of him as gone away
His journey's just begun;
Life holds so many facets
This earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
From the sorrows and the tears,
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days and years.
Think of how he must be wishing
That we could know today,
How nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away.
And think of him as living
In the hearts of those he touched,
For nothing loved is ever lost
And he was loved so much.
