Passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, on Saturday September 12, 2015, in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Ruth for 50 years. Loving father of Wayne (deceased), Donnie and Stephen, and step father of Marlene and Arlene. Dear father in law of Anne Marie, Nadine, Jill, Lorne and Ken. He will be fondly remembered by his 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Thompson Funeral Home (530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora) on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Thursday at 11:00 o’clock. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to the Salvation Army. Don served actively on the navy as a Dems Gunner in the North Atlantic, and in the years that followed he became very active in the Royal Canadian Legion and Veterans Affairs.
