Passed away at Mackenzie Health Long Term Care at age 87 on February 27, 2026. She is predeceased by her husband of 62 years Floyd Roach. She is survived her son Mark and daughter Susan (Kevin), granddaughters Danika and Kyra and great grandsons Jack and Jayden.
Lorna was born in Englehart Ontario on September 3, 1938. She enjoyed the challenges of her work as bookkeeper. Her and Floyd felt blessed to have a fulfilling retirement.
We feel incredibly blessed to have had our mom for 87 years, even with her gradual cognitive decline as each stage of Alzheimer's advanced over the past 10 years. It is safe to say mom was quite entertaining during this period and in a good way. Over her life, mom’s personality had many facets—smart, creative, resourceful, worrisome, fun, anxious, but mostly caring. She had the ability to easily master whatever task or hobby she took on.
During the early stages of her Alzheimer's she lost her ability to worry and, from that point, life did not phase her. She remained mainly happy which certainly eased the effects of Alzheimer's on us. She truly had a unique character that the staff at her long term care embraced. She was well-known to the staff for her happy demeanor, energy, drive and her strength of will.
We wish to thank all of our friends and family with whom who we have shared our “geriatric parents’” stories, and laughed, vented, and cried as they were told. We miss both mom and dad beyond words. We have many great memories for us to continually cherish and recall as we move forward in our lives. The most important thing for mom was our family and we have always been the recipients of our parent’s unconditional love and support for our entire lives. We will truly miss you mom!
We love you mom.
Mark and Susan
