Passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Born March 31, 1940 in Heydekrug, East Prussia. He will be remembered for his unconditional love, gentle spirit and giving heart, and is deeply missed by his family who adored him. Manfred leaves behind his wife – the love of his life - Maria Jurgeneit, two boys Peter (Amy-Lyn) and David (Manuela), and grandchildren Ella, Wesley, Nicole and Joshua.
Youngest brother of John (Gisela), Gerry (Olga) and Siegfried Jurgeneit. Dear brother-in-law of Les (Evey) Latorcai, Madeleine (Rolf) Mueller and Peter Latorcai. Loved uncle to all his cousins, nephews and nieces who he cherished.
Manfred lived a life of faith. He joyfully served as a choir member, organist, and Sunday school teacher for over 60 years in his church. His love for life and others were always centered in his love of Christ and his gratefulness for God’s grace. Manfred was a carpenter by trade and high-school teacher at King City S.S. until his retirement. His love for learning with and from others extended far beyond the class-room.
A Funeral Service for Manfred will be held Friday October 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Northridge Community Church of the Salvation Army, 15388 Leslie Street, Aurora, ON L4G 7C4 with a reception and time with the family to follow.
It was Manfred’s wish that any expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to Southlake Regional Health Foundation (give.southlake.ca) or NAC Foreign Extension (https://www.naccanada.org/IMIS_PROD/NAC/Care/Missionary.aspx). All donations gratefully appreciated by his family.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ThompsonFH-Aurora.com for the Jurgeneit family.
