Hi Donna, this is Breda from your tennis team. Though I didn't know Martin at all I was thrilled to hear about him from his friend, brother and of course Erin at the funeral mass. Apparentely he played hockey with the dads of both my son's peewee teams but I never knew that before. Please accept my condolences for the loss of your husband, father, son, brother, cousin friend so special to so many. Breda Murphy (Holland Landing and Ireland)

Dearest Donna, Alison, Erin & all the Foy family:

Our deep sympathy & sincere condolences on the loss of dear Martin. So sad! So soon! So tragic! But there should be some Joy in the fact that Martin's Spirit lives on, not only with his Maker, but also in you his family, as well as all those hundreds of friends & colleagues, like ourselves, whose lives he touched during his short but very meaningful & fruitful life on earth.

He has passed on "the Torch" to all of us to carry on his good works, his humble generosity, his community service, his sense of humour, his caring & loving of those less fortunate than himself. As an outstanding member of the Knights of Columbus & an active parishioner of St Elizabeth Seton community, he will never be forgotten as a truly extraordinary example to us all.

He was, in the Biblical sense, "a Gentle Man" & "a man without guile". Sadly we shall not see his like again. "Rest in Peace" dear Martin.

Paraphrasing the words of St Paul: he has fought the good fight, he has finished the race, he has reaped his reward!

May God's Amazing Grace be with you all during the difficult days ahead.

With Love, Hugs & Blessings from:
Theresa Ravanello-Wharton & Paul-Raymond Wharton
