It was an honour to care for Monica at Margaret Bahen Hospice. On behalf of the entire MB Hospice family, please accept our deepest sympathies.

I will remember Monica with much Love.  We became good friends when we worked together at Blue Hills Child and Family Centre and our work cubbies were beside each other.  We quickly recognized that we shared similar strong opinions, as well as ethics, spiritual beliefs, and most importantly -humour.  I will never forget visits with her family, dinner with her dad, Nick, and precious time with her mom, Gretty before she passed. We supported each other during tough times.  I will remember Monica's kind and generous spirit as well as the fun times we shared camping, cottaging, and shopping on the Danforth.  I remember how happy she was when she met and then married her beloved Craig and when she gave birth to Sam and Max.

I watched Monica shine as a devoted and loving friend, mother,  wife, sister (in-law),  daughter (in-law), and as a brilliant CYC practitioner.  I  respected her so much. She was a brave, gentle warrior and the world is a little darker now that her bright spirit is gone.

She was one of the most kindest, sincere, positive person I have met.  She made everyone feel special.  Her gentle way was penetrating and powerful to my heart. My Dear Monica, you brought so much hope and humility to your path as you journeyed through it the last 3 years. As a health care practitioner standing by your side watching you, you didn't hesitate to give hope to others or call others if needed to inform and educate and help them decide on their own path. You will be missed. Our monthly updates and your optimism and overall transparency in this experience of life where you offered some of your deepest hopes and dreams to others . You will forever be remembered in my mind and be a beacon of someone who walked their own path and discovered depths of being and healing.

Although we had not seen or spoken to each other in decades, I have fond memories of our time together as friends and classmates back at Elmcrest and Hillside. One memory in particular was being at her house and her letting me read her massive book of Gnomes. I loved it so much I found a copy a few years back at a used bookstore and bought it — I instantly thought of Monica 🥰…and will continue to each time I look at it. May her memory be a blessing.

We were so sorry to hear the very sad news of Monica's passing. Our families met during our son's minor hockey years.  Monica was the kindest, thoughtful and loving mother to her two boys. Dear Craig and boys,

I first met Monica way back when all our boys were at Magic Kingdom preschool.  Monica was easy to make friends with. Warm, smiling, and always quick with a laugh.  Over the years we would meet for coffee, walks with Toby and our annual backyard kids party. Facebook memories pop up every year of Sam and Max running around in their bathing suits with great big smiles, and every year I would send them along to Monica.
