It is with great sadness that the family of Rick McCuish, announces his passing, on Friday November 4, 2022 after many brave and courageous years battling Parkinson’s disease. Rick is lovingly remembered by his wife, Penny (Travis) of 35 years; his girls Kimberley (McBride) (Marquis Smierciak) and Kelly McCuish (Dave Cerullo) and his sister Lori Knight. Rick (Pops) will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Jack, Hailey, Hunter, Madison, Cameron and Justin.
Rick loved his special time spent with his daughters and later with their growing families. From Rick’s early childhood through to his retirement he and his family made lasting memories each winter on Anna Maria Island, Florida. As a dedicated Blue Jays fan Rick thrilled to see his favourite team play against the Pittsburgh Pirates during Spring Training. Rick enjoyed a successful career of 34 years with Hydro One. In his passing Rick leaves fond memories in the hearts of his family and friends, who were always entertained by his stories and quirky sense of humour. He is now at peace, joining his parents Margaret and Hugh McCuish and sister Margaret.
He Only takes The Best
When God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
He put his arms around you
And whispered come to me.
He didn't like what you went through
And thought that you should rest,
His garden must be beautiful
He only takes the best.
And when we saw you sleeping,
So peaceful, free of pain,
We wouldn't wish you back
To suffer that again.
Today we say goodbye
As you take your final rest,
God's garden must be beautiful
He only takes the best
