My wife Debbie and I have just returned from a trip overseas and were deeply saddened to hear of Tim's passing. Helen, you may be interested to know that Tim was one of the first people to befriend me when I first moved to Aurora in 1971. I met Tim at the ball park and he helped me to get a spot on his team and we were team mates for several years afterwards. We later played with and against each other in the Town Hockey league. I always appreciated that Tim went out of his way to make me feel welcome and he also arranged a party for me in 1972 when Deb and I were married.

Tim  was passionate about everything he did, whether it was sports, business, coaching and certainly about his family. I shall miss that passion and I will certainly miss my old friend!

Dear Helen, Angie, Dena and Jill:

We are truly saddened to hear of Tim's passing. We all go back such a long way, starting from the store to Aurora Minor Ball, from the fight for the Diamonds to all that coaching together, from the seemingly endless summer travels to hot weekends on the diamonds. I must not forget our Hewlett's Sports Men's Slowpitch Team and "Old Guys Hockey". Man, we did a lot together! There was even deodorant stones and dog "Nutrition". Tim was Mr. Energy, so much enthusiasm in all he did. He should have bottled that and sold it too! We have all lost some pieces from our lives, pieces I can call "Tim's Bits" which is what I actually used to call all his antics back in the day. Our family's thoughts are with you all down here in Nova Scotia and from the little one now in Regina.

I am sadden to hear of Tim's passing.  I have so many wonderful memories of your dad in his "coaches" uniform.  His passion for softball and the success of the young women who played, was truly special.  He gave his heart and soul and tried to ensure that everyone reached greatness.  I can still envision my maroon, mash back hat with Hewlett's Sporting Goods in rainbow print splashed across the front.  There are so many wonderful memories that involve your family and softball.  Thank-you for sharing your husband and father with us all.  I know that I am a much better ball player and most importantly, a better person.

We were so saddened to hear of the passing of Tim.  We have known each other for so many years in Aurora and we have many memories of him in all of his various business endeavours. Robert always enjoyed playing in the town hockey league with Tim and all the friendly chats with him when you had the dry cleaning business. I just found out from my Dad, that Tim had passed away.
I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I remember very distinctively how kind Tim was. When we moved to Aurora in 1981, I remember meeting him for the first time at Hewlett sports. I do believe my first purchase with my father was a Koho hockey stick. Throughout the years I would see him at the dealership,  the gym, and at the odd store. Every time, he had a smile, and always had something positive and kind to say.

Deepest sympathies to the Hewlett family on the passing of Coach.  I have many fond memories of coming into the store and seeing his big smile as he helped us with our sporting equipment needs.  He would always ask about how our teams were doing.  His support of the Aurora Diggers and all minor sport was appreciated.  May God keep you in His care at this difficult time.

I wiIll miss Coach.  I felt we were very much alike, I could always relate to how his mind worked.  This is not easy to find, in my experience.
