He lived in Barrie, Ontario as a child and raised his family in Aurora, Ontario and most recently Plano Texas.
Wayne Hill was a devoted Christian and family man who dedicated his life to the service of others. Professionally he was an accomplished Engineer at IBM for more than 25 years where he received numerous accolades and recognition. His incredible work ethic and talents were visible from an early age when he and his pregnant wife built their first home on evenings and weekends while working full time. Outside of work Wayne was the principal founder of the Newmarket and District Christian Academy. Established in 1981 it was the first Christian School in York Region, Ontario. He was also a longtime member of Grace Church and Yorkview Church of Newmarket and supported the Church in many roles and capacities.
Once retired from IBM Wayne worked with his son, Ian, manufacturing, selling and installing playground equipment. During his retirement years he would often spend many months in Florida escaping the cold Canadian winters. He enjoyed his local church there and formed many wonderful friendships. Wayne's heart to reach the world for Christ got him involved in High Adventures Gospel Communications. He made many trips to Africa helping spread Gold's love to those in need. Wayne had a particular interest in designing solar. septic and irrigation systems for the less developed areas in Africa. After moving to Plano Texas, he joined Prestonwood Baptist Church and recently reaffirmed his faith through baptism.
