Kenneth Carlos Yoder, 86, died November 7th, 2019, at Hospice Austin Christopher’s House. He was born on September 20th, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Kenneth T Yoder and M. Louise Carlos Yoder. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Military. He served his country for more than 20 years in both the Army and Air Force. During his service abroad in Germany, he met the love of his life, Anna Schindler. They were married on July 13th, 1959 and celebrated 60 years of marriage in July 2019. After serving his country, he worked as a frequency coordinator for the Department of Public Safety in Austin, TX where he retired in August 2003 at the age of 70.
Kenneth, was active in the Boy Scouts of America, for over 30 years, and during that time he shaped many young men’s lives. He was also an active member of the American Legion.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers, Bill and John.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Anna Schindler Yoder; his son, Kenneth R Yoder and spouse Renae; daughter, Mary Ann Richards and spouse Ronnie, daughter, Linda Rene Maldonado and spouse Alonzo; seven grandchildren, Brandi Stephens and her spouse Brett, Autumn Yoder, Austin Yoder, Melissa McGavin and her spouse Jeremy, Cullen Cantrell and his spouse Kelly, Denton Maldonado and Rene Wilson and her spouse Renick; five great-grandchildren, Carl Stephens, Wyatt Stephens, Thomas Cantrell, Jackson Cantrell, and Kellen Cantrell; one sister, Marge Wickham, and many nieces and nephews.
Rosary and Visitation service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, located at 2620 S. Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704 officiated by Deacon John Pickwell.
Father Johnson of St. Paul’s will hold mass at 10:00 am on Friday, November 15, 2019 at St. Paul’s Church, located at 10000 David Moore Rd, Austin, TX 78748.
Burial will be at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, November 19,2019 at Ft Sam Houston Cemetery - San Antonio, Texas and will be officiated by Deacon John Pickwell.
