Ross Schulle, of Austin, passed away on April 13, 2016. He was born in Lockhart, Texas, in 1929, to Herbert and Mary Krueger Schulle. After military service in the US Navy, Ross came to Austin, and served 25 years as an Austin Police Officer. Then, the last 17 years before retirement were in the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. He was a member of the Texas Police Association and served in many offices of that organization. Ross was a member of the Masons, and Ben Hur Shrine, Patrol Unit, Provost Guard Unit, and the Travel Club. After retirement, travel and genealogy were full time hobbies for him and his beloved wife and their companion, Brandy.
A light has gone out in the world. He was preceded in death by his loving wife and best friend, Billye Vanderburg Schulle, and a daughter, Judy Ann Schulle Brace. He is survived by a daughter, Jayne Marie Schulle, 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and several close friends.
In life Ross touched many people; he lived life to help others. In lieu of flowers, Ross asked that in his memory you perform a random act of kindness. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Austin's Christopher House for their support and kindness, and asks that gifts in his memory be made to support Christopher House.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 o'clock p.m. on Sunday, April 17th at Austin Memorial Park, 2800 Hancock Drive.
