

Albert Levi Bankston September 09, 1919 - April 24, 2007 Albert Bankston, 87, of Austin passed away April 24, 2007. He was born in Austin, Texas on September 9, 1919 to Nora Ellis Bankston and Andrew H. Bankston. He served his country as a Sergeant in the Army from April 5, 1941 - December 22, 1945. As Radio operator in 254th infantry 63rd division, he was decorated with the American defense service medal, American theater campaign medal, EAME campaign medal with two bronze stars, good conduct medal and clasp, distinguished unit badge, and the World War 2 Victory medal. Albert retired from The City of Austin as a registered sanitarian after more than 30 years of service. He is preceded in death by his wife, June. He is survived by his son, Lee, and daughter- in-law Marilyn, brother Eddie and wife, Nelda, 5 grandchildren , Kimberly Pearson, Jennifer Chastain, Angel Maxwell, Kelly Sawyer & Amanda Hemesath , 6 great grandchildren, Jacquelyn Chastain, Katie Chastain, Dylan Clevenger, River Maxwell, Lyric Maxwell, & Lennon Maxwell. He was loved dearly and will be missed... Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2007 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel.
