

Alex Besa Sr., age 76 went to be with his Lord on December 10, 2012. Although he passed away in a very tragic automobile accident, his loved ones take comfort in knowing that he has joined his beloved wife Minnie in Heaven. His faith was unwavering since he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior on September 16, 1996.
Alex is preceded in death by his father Alfred Besa Sr., his mother Antonia Vargas, and his stepfather Manuel Vargas Sr. He is also preceded in death by his sister Esther Leos and brother Richard Besa.
Alex is survived by his daughters Stella Gorbet and husband Kelly, Rachel Davila and husband Charlie, Alice Lopez and husband Steve; his sons Alex Besa Jr. and wife Tina, Edward Besa and wife Isabel.
Alex is survived by his brothers Alfred Besa Jr. and wife Charlotte from Los Angeles, California, Raymond Besa and wife Patsy from Humble, Texas, and Manuel Vargas Jr. and wife Rosemarie from Austin, Texas; his sister Lillian Salazar and husband Marco from Austin, Texas.
Alex is survived by his grandsons Steven John Lopez, Jeremiah Davila, Brian Lopez, Michael Ortega, Kelly Ray Gorbet Jr., Edward Besa Jr., Christopher Besa and Matthew Besa; his granddaughters Yvonne Davila, April Gorbet, Cristina Robledo, Marissa Besa, Adrianna Besa, Samantha Besa, Stephanie Lopez and Joanna Besa.
Alex is survived by his great-grandsons Christian Lopez, Dominique Lopez, Danny Acosta, Jeremiah Robledo and Elijah Robledo; his great-granddaughters Lilliana Lopez, Ameryss Davila and Valerie Lopez.
Alex is dearly loved and will be missed terribly by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, December 16,2012 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue, with a sermon to be presented by Pastor George Tuthill at 5:15 pm.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 17,2012 at Capitol City Baptist Church, 1300 Redd Street, with Pastor Adam Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
Honoring Alex and serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Steven John Lopez, Jeremiah Davila, Michael Ortega, Kelly Ray Gorbet Jr., Edward Besa Jr. and Christopher Besa. Honorary pallbearer will be Brian Anthony Lopez.
