He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike L. and Amelia Garza, his beloved sister Isabel Zapata, his brother David Garza and his son Mark. He is survived lovingly by his wife and friend of 59 years, Dora Alicia Alaniz Garza. He will be warmly remembered by his son, Randy Garza and wife Ana; grandchildren, Derek and Alyssa Garza; brother, Mike Garza and wife Virginia; and lots of wonderful cousins, nephews, nieces, as well as great nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Garza, Randy and Garza Family,

I was so sad to hear the news today of Mr. Garza's passing. His contagious smile and vibrant personality is forever etched in my mind.

What an amazing Husband, Father and Friend to all Mr. Garza was to everyone he met.

I loved the days of getting my dad together with his "Comps" for a round of laughter. During those sessions poor Mrs. Garza having to deal with those two jokers.

Forever missed and always loved with so many precious memories.

Thank you for posting all those family pictures as it was awesome to see Mr. Garza always with that perfect smile.

My deepest sympathy to the family.

Hi, my name is Daniel and I send my deepest sympathies to all of Alex’s family and fellow friends.

Alex and I grew up together near Red River St. in the mid 40’s. I’ve attached a photo of Alex when he was around the age of 7. He is the one standing on the right side of the picture. I will always have fond memories of our childhood.

God Bless 🙏

Always welcoming to all who met him. When ever I saw him at HEB he'd always greet me with a smile, a wave and a warm "Hello lil Louie." One of the most gentle souls to ever walk the face of the Earth.
